Totara Learn Professional is a version of Totara Learn geared towards smaller businesses


Learn Professional is aimed towards smaller organisations and also training departments where the full suite of features in Learn are not required, offering a cost effective solution that remains enterprise ready, but is also easy to upgrade if your demands change and adapt.

Catalogue Management

Create multiple categories, new courses, and clone or copy your existing courses. Include core Totara fields, add custom fields and utilise the Grid format catalogue.

Course Management

Set completion options, upload legacy completions, edit existing completions and more.


End users have access to a full Record of Learning and Required Learning with their assigned Programmes.

Seminars include approval pathways, virtual delivery via Teams and Zoom, downloadable sign in sheets and attendance tracking.

Content Management

SCORM 1.2, AICC, H5P along with fixed content, external links, embedded files and media from (eg) YouTube (etc).


Access to Totara's powerful course building toolkit and learning activities enabling fully blended content, individualisation and branching based on interactions.

Adaptive Learning

Target learning pathways to end users using Totara Programmes, plus restrictions / branching via audiences.

Social Learning

Create forums, live chat, peer based assessment, Wikis, blogs enabling networking and sharing.

Enrolment Management

Multiple enrolment functions which can be interfaced with Chambury's eCommerce functions if you want to income generate from your learning content.

Surveys and Evaluation

The core feedback activity is available so you can build evaluation forms, with centralised reporting.


Badges, Certificates, the Gradebook and Assignment activities are included.

Compliance Management

You won't get access to Certifications, but you will have full access to Programmes and Chambury's RAG style reporting toolkit.

User Management

There are no restrictions on user management including full access to HR Import, bulk update and custom profile fields.

Audience Management

Target learning to your end users, along with homepages and individualised navigation managed with Totara's powerful rule set based Audience toolkit. You can combine user profile fields, include completion data and other Audiences to personalise homepages, but more importantly target training to your learners.

Team Management

Your managers and team leaders have access to their team member page, with automated tasks and alerts and approval for classroom bookings.


Totara's GDPR functions are included keeping you compliant including site policies.

You won't have full access to the full report builder, but you will have access to key system reports.

Site Personalisation and Design

A fully branded experience, following your internal style and banding guidelines along with multiple dashboards, tasks /alerts /email notifications, user tours (and more!) are available to you to individualise the learner experience.

Access Management

Self registration, manual logins, guest access, integration to internal systems via SAML, OAUTH (etc) are all included in Learn Professional.

Mobile App

The Totara mobile app can be used with Totara Professional without restriction. Download it from the Apple and Android App Stores.
