Reporting improvements in Totara Learn 13
Accurate and timely reporting is an essential for any learning management system. LMS reports help ensure compliance with security, safety, ethical and transparency requirements, as well as identify gaps and opportunities for learner development and support.

Whist the core Totara report builder is already quick and easy to use, Totara HQ have introduced some major improvements to the report builder across Totara 13 ot make it even better.

You can now review and launch all the reports you’ve created or that have been shared with you from a graphical tiled-based view, similar to the learning catalog. The report tiles can show the description or abstract of the report and indicate the type of graph included within the report.
there is also a new addition to the existing 'saved search' feature to enable you to set a default saved search - meaning you can view a report pre-filtered with your preferred filters.
With so much data captured and available within your Totara LMS, it is now quick and painless to create reports. If you have permission to build reports, you can now jump straight to the report builder from the view reports page, as well as the regular links in the admin menus.
The create report page has been revamped, and now offers a new search, report source filter and preview of all the reports you can create and customise. With report templates and a new create and view option, you can quickly spin up new reports and make the required column, filter and user content filters as required.
The template also serves as a quick view option to see what the default report options are, meaning you can see a summary of your required data set in only a couple of clicks.
Also launched is a new graphical reporting tool - ChartJS - that not only improves and modernises the graphs you can generate to accompany your reports, but offers some new report types.
We now have donut and progress donut graphs to add to the existing options of pie, horizontal bar, line, area, column and scatter displays for all core reports. Exciting eh ..?
Graphical displays not only make large amounts of data easier to understand and assess, they also provide an at-a-glance summary of progress, status, dates and numbers.
These graphs are particularly powerful when embedded into Dashboards where different types of users across your site can be provided with quick and digestible access to the most relevant information. ChamburyLS's enhanced report blocks provide drill-down capabilities to charts when displayed on dashboards meaning you can direct your users to the info they require as and when they need it.
We can also automate report data to and from your internal BI and KPI systems, meaning you can report from your LMS using your corporate systems, in real time ..!
